WallPress Demonstrating Vertical Wall Printing Solution At FESPA Africa And Sign Africa Expo

WallPress will hold live demonstrations of its wallPen e2 model at the FESPA Africa and Sign Africa Expo, taking place from 11-13 September at Gallagher Convention Centre.

Dubbed as the gold standard in vertical wall printing, the wallPen e2 can print on almost any vertical surface, even rough, textured surfaces. Built into the head are two laser sensors that scan the surface more than 500 times a second as they move up and down. If unevenness is detected, the head automatically retracts and moves closer to the wall in order to keep the nozzles the same distance from the surface as it sprays the ink.

The built-in laser sensors compensate for unevenness, up to a distance of 10cm, by measuring the largest and smallest distance to the wall. Using this information, the wallPen e2 optimally adapts the printing process to the conditions, and ensures seamless performance with impressive results, even on vastly uneven surfaces such as brick.

Software Upgrade

Still unrivalled in its build quality and reliability, the wallPen e2 recently underwent a major upgrade, which not only increases performance and productivity, but now also boasts its very own app, which is available for all platforms like Android, iOS, iPadOS, MacOS and Windows.

The new wallPen OS v3.0 sees a major increase in lightning-fast and extremely stable wireless data connection for a smooth and responsive creative workflow with its new 5 GHz Wi-Fi support. Moreover, the additional upgrade features include things like: OTA – over the air updates; SKIP SWATH – to reduce printing time by eliminating print head movement in empty areas of the print; LASER LOOK AHEAD – improves laser distance control thanks to the ability to memorise the wall shape of previous printed paths.

During last year’s three day Sign Africa Expo, the wallPen e2 ran tirelessly while printing on a section of wall at the company’s stand, while visitors to the expo crowded around to see its capabilities. Each day the wall was painted over for the machine to start afresh.

‘The market has responded positively and we’ve sold a number of machines, including our first sale into Namibia. Market demand for both machine sales and direct to wall printing opportunities have seen a massive spike and we’re very positive about the company’s future prospects,’ said founder and industry veteran, Shaun Prinsloo.

FESPA Africa and Sign Africa Expo, taking place from 11-13 September 2024 at Gallagher Convention Centre from 9am-5pm, is sponsored by Stixo and Roland. Entrance is free, please register online.
